The 2016 Syrah Mormann Vineyard is overtly peppery, with tons of spice, stem, cured meats and assorted red and black fruit characteristics. It’s certainly the most singular in of the single vineyard Syrah, has medium to full-bodied richness, terrific purity (which is common in all of Zac’s wines) and present tannin. Give bottles a year or three once released.

The 2016 Syrah Mormann Vineyard is the finest wine I have tasted from Zac Wasserman. Intense from the outset, it possesses stunning aromatic presence, fabulous richness and exceptional balance for such a young wine. Rose petal, lavender and dark cherry are some of the many nuances that fill out the wine's frame. The 2016 Mormann offers superb potential. I can't wait to taste it from bottle.
The 2016 Syrah Mormann Vineyard offers up notes of smoke, motor oil and roasted plums, followed by a full-bodied palate built around beautifully fine-grained tannins. It's a ripe, dramatic Syrah that I suspect will be at its best in the near term.
